Appalachian Youth Service has been a leader in providing top quality care to dependent and delinquent youth since 1977. Our facilities are staff-secure and provide highly structured residential and educational facilities for youth. Our goal is to make positive changes with youth, providing them with the safety and security they require. We have a great reputation with the Department of Human Services (DHS) and across Pennsylvania.
Appalachian Youth Service is looking for individuals to staff our residential and educational programs. Ideal candidates would have a background in psychology, criminology, or any related field. College degrees or working in a similar environment preferred, but not necessary! We are dedicated to our employees and will train the right person. We do not mandate overtime. We offer a good life/work balance so that you can earn a living while still enjoying life.
We are looking for Full Time employees who are able to enforce our structure, follow directions, make good decisions, and take pride in their work. Please do not apply if you have a history of absenteeism or excessive personal engagements that require you to be off work. Cell phones are prohibited while working. We want dependable employees who are looking for a career. You will be required to work all shifts including weekends and holidays. We offer a flexible scheduling system in which you are able to make reasonable requests for days you are unavailable. Potential employees should not have more than three shifts per week that they are unable to work. Appalachian Youth Service follows all provisions of the Drug Free Workplace Act.
REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
Must be at least 21 years of age and dependable
Must possess a High School Diploma, college preferred
Must be able to work all three shifts including weekends and overnights
Undergo Child Abuse, State Police, and FBI clearances
Be able to complete an online Medication Administration course
Must have a valid PA driver’s license and clean driving record
Must be able to complete Safe Crisis Management training
Be able to complete First Aid and CPR certifications
Provide appropriate structure and safety for youth within our care
Maintain the rules and regulations in our facilities
Be a positive role model for the youth.
