As an Electric Motor Mechanic at Apparatus Repair & Engineering, Inc. (AR&E), you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electric motors and associated equipment. This role requires technical expertise in electrical systems and mechanical components to ensure the efficient operation of motors used in various industrial and commercial applications.


Responsibilities:

  1. Installation and Repair: Install new electric motors and repair existing ones as per technical specifications and safety guidelines.

  

  1. Diagnostic Testing: Conduct diagnostic tests using specialized tools and equipment to identify issues with electric motors and associated components.

  

  1. Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems to determine the root cause and implement effective solutions.

  

  1. Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubricating parts, replacing worn components, and cleaning motor parts to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

  

  1. Inspection: Inspect motors for signs of wear, damage, or malfunction, and recommend repairs or replacements as necessary.

  

  1. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, installations, and maintenance activities for each motor and equipment.

  

  1. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working with electrical equipment to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.

  

  1. Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers to understand their requirements, and explain repair procedures.


Skills and Qualifications:

  -Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of electrical systems, motors, and mechanical components.

  - Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve issues effectively.

  - Attention to Detail: Thoroughness in inspecting and repairing electric motors.

  - Physical Stamina: Capable of lifting heavy equipment and working in physically demanding environments.

  - Safety Awareness: Commitment to following safety protocols and guidelines.

  - Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.

  - Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.


Education and Experience:

  - High school diploma or equivalent.

  - Vocational or technical training in electrical or mechanical fields preferred.

  - Relevant work experience in electric motor repair or a related field is advantageous.

  - Valid driver's license & either have or be willing to obtain a DOT physical card.


Work Environment:

  - Work primarily in repair shops or on-site at customer locations.

  - May work at heights when performing installations or repairs.

  - Some positions may require occasional travel to customer sites.
