Position Description
POSITION TITLE: Title I Preschool Teacher
F.L.S.A. Exempt Professional
QUALIFICATIONS:

Must hold PK-3 or Early Childhood Special Education CSE) certificate.

Reading certification or Project Construct training preferred.
- Knowledge of English Language Learner (ELL) preferred
REPORTS TO: Principal
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Teacher's work calendar and benefits as provided in the Negotiated Teacher's Agreement.
Job Goal: To provide an early childhood educational program designed for educationally deprived four-year-old children whose educational attainment is below the level appropriate for children of their age.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Implement developmentally appropriate activities and strategies which support early literacy and math.
- Implement developmentally appropriate activities and strategies which promote the social and emotional skills necessary for successful transition to Kindergarten.
- Provide an environment of acceptance that supports and respects each child’s gender, culture, language and ethnicity.
- Provide opportunity for parents to become involved in their child’s growth and development through parent education and participation.
- Make home visits to support emergent literacy and numeracy development through the demonstration of activities to support the developmental level of each child.
- Maintain accurate and current student records.
- Develop annual budget for materials and supplies..
- Supervise teacher assistants.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Collaborate with the District Office administration and site administrator to review and implement program improvements.
- Attend meetings as requested.
- Other duties as assigned
