Our wireless SOC organization is responsible for all aspects of wireless silicon development, taking care of challenges from the complex usages, more demanding performances and reliabilities to enable emerging wireless applications and products. Our goals are to come up with innovative architectures and protocols, integrate systems and algorithms with employing the advanced technologies to introduce our innovative products, providing evolutions to our lives.
In this technical role, you will be at the center of a silicon design group, with a critical impact on radio architecture, radio system performance, system integration and physical layer algorithms designs for innovative wireless communication systems. You will develop system models of RF / analog design, radio chain modeling, integrated radio interaction models, dynamic behavior models and assess associate impairments. You will evaluate radio performance on various application scenarios, as well as working on architecting various calibration and correction methods for radio impairments.
The role requires collaboration with HW digital designers and architects, products, Radio, analog designers, and SW engineers, to define and specify the wireless systems. You will work with digital designers to realize different physical and / or radio compensation algorithms, and with firmware designers to implement high efficiency software for physical / radio compensation algorithms. Additionally, you will bring up, test, characterize and optimize real silicon in the lab to production quality.
Description
In this role, core responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Design radio models for the wireless communication system, RF / circuits impairments.
- Design method / algorithm to alleviate those impairments by calibration, pre-equalization, canceller, and / or pre-distortion techniques.
- Evaluate radio performance in different scenarios by quantitative analysis and link simulation.
- Work with radio designers to develop state-of-the-art radio architecture.
- Collaborate with digital designers to realize PHY / radio algorithms with power and area efficient digital implementations.
- Work with firmware designers to implement PHY / radio algorithms with high efficiency software implementation, and possibly with hardware acceleration.
- Responsible for bringing up, testing, characterizing and optimizing real silicon in the lab.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
