Job Description :
The Housekeeping / Laundry Aide provides quality housekeeping services, and a clean, orderly and safe environment for all facility residents and staff.
As defined in job routines or department instructions, the Housekeeping / Laundry Aide cleans assigned areas of the facility, included but not limited to : resident rooms and bathrooms, on a scheduled basis to meet high standards of cleanliness, infection control, safety and hazardous communication program. The Housekeeping / Laundry Aide plans efficient use of time, cooperates with all other staff and performs responsibilities with minimum disruption to the residents and staff. Maintains a clean, orderly work area and department. The Housekeeping / Laundry Aide assists in maintaining adequate supplies needed in the department.
Minimum Qualifications :
Ability to read labels and follow oral and written instructions in English.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and to take appropriate action.
- Ability to visually assess all aspects of facility.
- Ability to distinguish smells and temperatures and to hear and respond to pages.
- Ability to walk, reach, bend, lift, grasp, pull, stretch, stoop and have fine hand coordination.
- Ability to lift and move furniture and heavy items weighing approximately 40 pounds.
