Optician Technician

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optician/Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in optical services, providing exceptional customer care while assisting patients with their eyewear needs. As an Optician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality of service and products tailored to their vision requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that best suit their needs and preferences.
• Perform fittings and adjustments on eyewear to ensure proper fit and comfort.
• Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and other optical products.
• Pre-test patients
• Adapting to fast pace optometry office.
• Process orders for eyewear through the laboratory system and bill vision insurance correctly.
• Handle retail sales transactions efficiently while providing excellent customer service.

Skills

• Proficiency in patient care procedures related to eyewear production.
• Strong sales skills with experience in retail sales environments.
• Familiarity with clinic operations, particularly in senior care settings.
• Knowledge of electronic health record systems such as Epic is a plus.
• Understanding of VSP, Eyemed, Spectera, and IEHP billing is a big plus.
• Experience with medical billing processes related to optical services.
• Comprehensive knowledge of optical products, including lenses and frames.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
