Description
In this role, You will partner closely with HW design engineering teams on deploying core machine learning algorithms and advanced analytics methods to large complex data sets and solve difficult, non-routine analysis problems. You will develop extensive knowledge of the design’s team data collection process, product data structures and metrics, and advocate for changes where needed. With a solid understanding of the types of complex data sets we are dealing with, you will work with a team of SW developers to architect, design and deploy the end to end SW stack needed for the tools to deliver critical real-time insights at scale, and that directly impact the HW design lifecycle. This position involves a wide variety of skills and innovation. You should be passionate about building outstanding software tools that provide a WOW experience for our users.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proficiency in data science, machine learning, and analytics, including statistical data analysis, A/B testing, prompt engineering and fine-tune foundational models for specific tasks.
- Proficiency with ML modeling frameworks (PyTorch, Tensorflow, etc.).
- Significant experience building complete prototypes and strong overall software development approach. You deliver clean, well-tested code.
- Solid software engineering skills in complex, multi-language systems. Strong programming skills, including data-science libraries (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-Learn, etc.) and experience with a scripting language for data processing and development (e.g., Python).
- 5 years of relevant work experience.

- Experience crafting, conducting, analyzing, and interpreting experiments and investigations.
- Experience articulating and translating business questions and using innovative cutting edge analysis techniques to arrive at an answer using available data.
- Capable of driving projects of varying sizes and scopes - some will take months and some weeks— and you will need to know when to dive deep.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to naturally explain difficult technical topics to everyone from data scientists to engineers to business partners.
- Masters, or PhD Degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning or equivalent academic or professional experience.
- Bonus: Experience developing prototypes with Multimodal LLMs and AI agents

- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
