We are looking for an ML Engineer who is passionate about translating expertise in ML and Generative AI into impactful applications for users. Our team is responsible for the Research, Development and Deployment of the core platform that powers Apple Intelligence on device and on private compute cloud — adapters, speculative decoding, guided generation to name a few. Our team is responsible for underpinning all the Apple Intelligence features we shipped to our customers including Writing Tools, Notification Summaries, ChatGPT integration, Siri and more

Description
As a member of this premier team, you will work on the intersection of Machine Learning and Software Engineering with an emphasis on recent developments in Generative AI
The position would be ideal for candidates proven hands-on experience with Generative AI inference, prompt optimizations, RAG, decoding strategies and other related areas. You will collaborate closely with several engineering teams at Apple to power exciting Apple Intelligence features and ship them to our customers.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience writing production software (Swift, C/C , Obj-C, Python)
- Strong fundamentals in Machine learning, speech processing, speculative decoding
- B.S, M.S. or PhD in Computer Science or a related field
- 3 years experience in relevant roles
Key Qualifications

- Hands-on experience in using open-source ML toolkits, e.g., PyTorch, Tensorflow
- Hands-on experience with building Generative AI inference stacks
- Excellent communication and organizational skills

- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
