As a Traffic Engineer you will orchestrate the design and development of cutting-edge traffic proxies, libraries, and services that power Apple services at an unprecedented scale, serving hundreds of millions of users globally. Minimum Qualifications
Professional expertise in software engineering
Skilled with one or more advanced programming language such as C, C , Java or Go
Full product lifecycle ownership mindset (design → implementation → production)
Passionate about improving the team and partners you work with
Key Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
Professional expertise in Traffic / Edge Engineering or Cloud Networking
Experience with automating operations (e.g., software deployments, config changes) at scale
Proven expertise with Linux network stack
Understanding of performance analysis and optimizations
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, Chef, Puppet)
Passionate about contributing to open source projects such as Envoy () and working across a large organization to meet Apple’s dynamic traffic needs
Experience with core production engineering best practices (e.g., designing for operability and scalability, adopting SLOs, eliminating toil).

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $197,400 and $296,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
