Job Description: Senior Architect
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Architect to join our team. This role involves managing complex architectural assignments, utilizing advanced techniques and diversified knowledge of architectural principles and practices. The Senior Architect will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, ensure project compliance with standards, and contribute to the firm's growth through high-quality design and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform complex architectural tasks involving sound independent judgment and application of advanced principles, under the supervision of the Director.
- Plan, design, and execute architectural projects, including preparation of construction specifications, life safety and code analysis, and construction administration.
- Prepare reports, plans, cost estimates, construction schedules, and secure permits for various projects.
- Coordinate design processes across disciplines, resolving conflicts and ensuring constructability through a deep understanding of construction techniques.
- Conduct site visits to monitor project progress, review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and provide actionable updates in compliance with contract documents.
- Supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior staff and interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality and accuracy in documentation.
- Utilize CAD, Revit, BIM 360, and other software for project development, while staying informed on the latest architectural tools and sustainability practices.
- Lead project management tasks, including workload forecasting, budget preparation, client communication, and timely delivery of quality projects.
- Represent the firm professionally in client interactions, proposals, and within industry organizations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 8 years of architectural experience with progressively complex projects.
- Registered Architect certification with the ability to sign and seal construction documents.
- Proficient in software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Microsoft Office Suite, BlueBeam, and BIM 360.
- Strong knowledge of codes, standards, and sustainable design strategies.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with architectural renderings and building energy analysis tools.
- Familiarity with diverse contractual delivery methods.
- Active membership in professional trade organizations.
