Research & Development Technician
Location: Onsite – Philadelphia, PA 19112
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay: $22.00/hour
Contract: 1 year
A leading company in the chemical and materials science industry is seeking a hands-on R&D Technician to support research and development activities at its innovation center. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a lab-focused role, contributing to the development and testing of advanced coating technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in experiment design, independently conduct tests, and report findings.
- Prepare and evaluate various coating formulations (e.g., electro-coat, primer, topcoat, clear coat).
- Operate mixing and spray equipment; become proficient in application methods.
- Accurately document and analyze test results using Microsoft Office tools.
- Collaborate with research staff to troubleshoot lab issues and interpret data.
- Maintain lab equipment, supplies, and a safe working environment.
- Safely handle and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or life science-related field, or equivalent lab experience.
- Strong interest in hands-on lab work and product understanding.
- Comfortable working with hazardous materials.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Teams.
- Skilled in interpreting technical documents and maintaining detailed lab records.
