Job Overview: The Senior Estimator is responsible for accurately estimating the costs, resources, and labor required to complete projects within the assigned Business Unit. This role ensures all project bids are comprehensive, timely, and well-organized to facilitate successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and vet bid opportunities to ensure their viability; review the bid calendar and schedule bid reviews.
- Attend pre-bid meetings to gain a thorough understanding of the project.
- Interpret drawings, specifications, and addendums with accuracy.
- Gather relevant information through various channels to produce accurate, detailed, and timely bids.
- Conduct project takeoffs using BlueBeam software.
- Recommend project profitability based on estimations.
- Present bids to customers clearly and effectively.
- Communicate and collaborate with key stakeholders, including Project Managers, Field Operations, and Customers, throughout the bidding process. Support project handoffs to assigned Project Managers.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong sense of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Proficiency in mathematical calculations and estimations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Experience with multiple project management platforms, including HCSS and BlueBeam.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and project specifications accurately.
Experience & Education:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- 7-10 years of estimating experience with a self-performing general contractor (GC) or specialty subcontractor.
- Field experience is a plus.
Physical Demands: The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation:

- Ability to navigate active job sites safely, including working around heavy equipment and in varying weather conditions.
