We are looking for an experienced Lead Estimator to oversee estimating and procurement for commercial exterior construction projects, including multi-family developments, hotels, and retail spaces. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of siding materials (especially fiber cement products) and strong proficiency in Excel and estimating software.
What You’ll Do :
Lead and refine estimating and purchasing processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Oversee bid preparation from start to finish, ensuring competitive and precise submissions.
Guide and mentor a team of estimators, fostering skill development and consistency.
Analyze past project data to enhance estimating accuracy and cost projections.
Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to optimize pricing and material availability.
Conduct value engineering assessments to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Stay updated on construction cost trends, labor rates, and industry advancements.
Ensure smooth project transitions from estimating to field execution.
Identify and mitigate potential risks in cost projections and material procurement.
Present detailed, data-driven cost estimates for a range of commercial projects.
What You Bring to the Table :
7 years of experience in construction estimating, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and estimating software.
In-depth knowledge of commercial exterior construction materials, including siding.
Established relationships with suppliers, builders, and manufacturers.
A process-driven mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Industry certifications are a plus.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor, train, and build a high-performing team.
Strong client-facing experience, including negotiating and presenting cost estimates.
