We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Grant Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in both grant writing and the construction industry, with the ability to secure funding for various construction-related projects. This role involves researching funding sources, developing persuasive proposals, and ensuring all applications meet specific guidelines and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities :
Identify Funding Sources : Research and identify available government, foundation, and corporate grants that align with construction project goals and eligibility criteria.
Project Evaluation : Assess the feasibility and potential impact of construction projects to determine suitability for grant applications.
Grant Proposal Development : Write detailed and persuasive grant proposals that clearly outline project objectives, budget, timeline, community benefits, and long-term impact on the target population.
Compile Supporting Documentation : Gather necessary data, including cost estimates, design plans, letters of support, and community demographic information to strengthen the grant proposal.
Ensure Grant Compliance : Review and ensure that all grant proposals meet the specific guidelines, formatting requirements, and reporting deadlines set by the funding organizations.
Collaborate with Stakeholders : Work closely with construction project managers, financial analysts, and other team members to gather the necessary information and ensure timely submission of proposals.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred) : A degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Construction Management, or a related field is often required.
Additional Certifications (Optional but beneficial) : Certifications in grant writing or project management (e.g., Grant Professional Certification - GPC) may be preferred.
Experience :
Grant Writing Experience : At least 2-3 years of experience in writing grants, ideally related to construction, community development, or infrastructure projects.
Construction Industry Knowledge : Familiarity with construction processes, project phases, budgeting, and construction terminology is essential.
Research Experience : Proven ability to identify and evaluate funding sources, and research eligibility criteria for different types of grants.
