What you will be doing
- Manage the Estimating Team
- Coordinate workload and delegate tasks to ensure deadlines are met
- Prepare and oversee the estimating schedule, ensuring appropriate coordination among stakeholders
- Monitor bid opportunities and perform go/no go analysis in coordination with the Business Unit Leader
- Ensure timely and accurate competition of estimates and bids by overseeing preparation of detailed cost estimates, including scope, costs, risk, materials, labor, equipment, and expenses
- Review and present final estimates to senior management and stakeholders
- Implement and oversee cost-tracking systems and databases to ensure data accuracy and availability for estimates
- Collaborate with project managers and field operations
- Engage in industry associations, networking events, etc to promote and gain opportunities for the business
- Prepare regular reports to estimate performance
What you will need
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in construction estimating, with at least 2 years in supervisor or management role
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and equipment
- Knowledge of construction estimating techniques, principals, and industry-standard software
- Ability to analyze drawings, specifications, and other project documents to develop accurate estimates
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present estimates to clients, management, and project teams
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead, coach, and develop others
