Food Safety Supervisor
Location : Bakersfield, CA
Compensation : $90-110K
Employment Type : Full-Time
We are seeking a Food Safety Supervisor to oversee and maintain all documentation related to product safety, legality, and quality systems. This role ensures compliance with government, customer, and third-party requirements while supporting continuous improvement efforts. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and knowledgeable in food safety regulations and quality assurance standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Ensure compliance with GFSI / BRC standards and regulatory requirements
- Act as the Document Control Coordinator, verifying and updating documentation
- Coordinate regulatory and GFSI compliance projects across departments
Develop and maintain policies and procedures in accordance with BRC standards
Manage sanitation documentation, SSOP development, and daily verification
Oversee facility audits, glass inventory, and structural assessments
Conduct internal audits and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Train and develop employees in food safety protocols and compliance
Prepare for and participate in regulatory and customer audits
Qualifications & Skills :
3 years of experience in food safety / regulatory compliance for food manufacturing
Strong knowledge of GFSI, BRC, HACCP, and food safety regulations
Experience in labeling, packaging compliance, and quality assurance
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
Bilingual English / Spanish is a plus
Education & Certifications :
Associate’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field preferred (extensive experience in QA / QC may be considered)
HACCP & GFSI Certification required
Supervisory experience is a plus
Additional Requirements :
Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods
Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs
