What are the responsibilities and job description for the Labor & Employment Paralegal position at AppleOne?
We are looking for an experienced Paralegal to assist with a variety of Labor & Employment litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of labor laws, employment regulations, and the litigation process. You will play a critical role in supporting attorneys, managing case files, preparing legal documents, and contributing to case strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and filing pleadings, motions, and discovery documents related to Labor & Employment and Litigation cases.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on labor law issues, employment disputes, and litigation matters.
- Draft, review, and organize legal documents including contracts, settlement agreements, and correspondence.
- Manage case files and ensure compliance with legal deadlines and court rules.
- Prepare and organize exhibits for depositions, hearings, and trials.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties to facilitate the progression of cases.
- Assist in preparing for mediations, arbitrations, and trials, including witness preparation and document review.
- Maintain case calendars, track deadlines, and ensure timely filing of documents.
- Perform other duties as assigned by attorneys and senior legal staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Paralegal certification (such as NALA or NFPA) preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Paralegal with a focus on Labor & Employment law and Litigation.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws, employment regulations, and litigation procedures.
- Proficient in legal research and writing.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal management software.
