Job Title : Director of Payroll and Accounts Payable
Location : South Carolina
Salary : $86,000 - $146,000 (Based on Experience)

Job Responsibilities :
Lead and manage the payroll and accounts payable departments, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in all processes.
Oversee the timely processing of payroll for all government employees, ensuring compliance with state and federal wage laws.
Manage accounts payable operations, including vendor payments, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance operational effectiveness and regulatory compliance.
Provide strategic leadership in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting related to payroll and accounts payable.
Ensure adherence to governmental accounting principles and financial policies.
Lead a team of finance professionals, providing training, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
Collaborate with auditors, state agencies, and external stakeholders to ensure financial transparency and compliance.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in payroll, accounts payable, or financial management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of governmental accounting standards, payroll systems, and financial reporting requirements.
Experience with enterprise financial management software (e.g., SAP, PeopleSoft, or similar systems).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong leadership and communication abilities, with a proven track record of team development.
Ability to work collaboratively with government agencies, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar financial certification is a plus.
