Job Opportunity : Project / Process Engineer III – Special Projects
Location : Tucson, AZ
Position Type : Full-Time
We are seeking a highly skilled Project / Process Engineer III – Special Projects to provide technical support in the rubber and composite product manufacturing sector. This role focuses on delivering engineering services to programs with complex or developing manufacturing processes. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in rubber and / or composite product manufacturing methods, such as molding, hand lay-up, and autoclave curing techniques.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead product development and process engineering efforts for specialized projects.
Review customer contracts and technical documents, ensuring engineering readiness.
Support manufacturability reviews, tool design, and product qualification.
Troubleshoot and improve processes, ensuring lean manufacturing methodologies are applied.
Serve as a member of the NCRB, handling non-conforming product issues.
Provide technical support to sales and marketing teams.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Material Sciences, or Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 10 years of experience in rubber / composite manufacturing, with at least 3 years in the defense or aerospace sectors.
Strong knowledge of molding, rubber bonding, and composite materials (EPDM, Silicones, Kevlar, etc.).
Proficient in MS Office and lean manufacturing.
Certified in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (preferred).
Additional Requirements :
Travel up to 2 weeks per year.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
