This is an entry-level position where you will be trained to create prosthetic shoes for children and veterans. In a supportive medical office environment, you will work hands-on with tools such as sanders, light machinery, and plaster to fabricate custom prosthetic devices. Key Responsibilities :
Assist in the creation of prosthetic shoes and devices for children and veterans.
Learn and perform the process of mixing plaster and forming prosthetics.
Use light tools and equipment such as sanders and basic hand tools to shape and refine prosthetic components.
Work closely with a small team of 2 to ensure accurate fittings and adjustments for patients.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile work environment.
Collaborate with prosthetists to ensure that all devices meet patient needs.
Provide support in patient fittings, ensuring comfort and proper alignment.
Support the repair and modification of existing prosthetic devices as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications :
A strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn a new career.
Ability to work with hands and tools such as sanders and basic hand tools.
A mature, dependable individual who is looking for a long-term position.
Ability to work well in a small team environment with attention to detail.
Excellent manual dexterity and patience.
Ability to follow directions and work carefully with sensitive materials.
Strong communication skills to interact with colleagues and occasionally with patients.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred Experience :
No prior prosthetics experience required; training will be provided.
Experience in a hands-on, workshop, or craft-based environment is a plus.
