Job Opportunity: Staff Accountant (Temp-to-Hire)
Location: Barnwell, SC
Salary: Up to $42,000 per year (based on experience)
We are seeking a Staff Accountant for a temporary-to-hire position with a state department. This role offers a path to permanent employment and a chance to join a dynamic team.
Schedule and Benefits: Schedule: Four 10-hour workdays with a 3-day weekend. Comprehensive Benefits Package: Employer-paid health and dental insurance. Basic life and long-term disability insurance at no cost. Paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays. Participation in a robust retirement plan.
Key Responsibilities: Analyze financial data and prepare financial information. Process payments and receipts and maintain accurate records. Perform bank reconciliations and ensure invoices are approved, coded, and reviewed for accuracy. Record and deposit miscellaneous income. Handle additional accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited 2- or 4-year college or university with a degree in accounting, finance, business administration (accounting emphasis), or a related field. Prior experience in accounting or finance preferred. Familiarity with housing operations and/or Yardi software is a plus. Preferred Experience: Minimum of 2 years in accounting or related field (preferred).
