POSITION SUMMARY:
The Perfumer will be responsible for the creation and development of fragrances for a diverse range of products assigned by the Sr. Perfumer. You will utilize your knowledge of fragrance ingredients, industry trends and market demand to drive innovation and excellent operations. You will work directly with the Sr. Perfumer to enhance your knowledge of perfumery and fragrance ingredients.
Essential Functions of the job:
- Create high-quality fragrances that align with brand identity and market preferences.
- Develop the ability to recognize the odor of essential oils, aromatic chemicals, natural isolates, gums and resins, specialties, etc., which are generally accepted and used in the perfume industry.
- Develop the knowledge to understand the behaviour of essential oils, aromatic chemicals, natural isolates, gums and resins, their physical properties and proper usage in perfume compounds
- Oversee multiple fragrance development projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion within budgetary constraints and meeting established milestones.
- Follow quality controls measures to maintain consistency and excellence in fragrance formulations by sensory testing.
- Stay informed about relevant and industry standards pertaining to fragrance ingredients, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments such as lab technicians and sales.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years or equivalent experience within the chemical manufacturing industry, Flavor & Fragrance industry a plus.
- Excellent written and Verbal communication skills with the ability to listen, articulate and advocate.
- Detailed-oriented and analytical, with a passion for quality and craftmanship in fragrance development.
- Proven track record working with essential oils and aroma chemicals.
- Technical system skills with a strong aptitude for technology-driven solutions in perfumery.
- Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Work safety and proactively to ensure a safe work environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related scientific discipline.
Physical Requirements to Perform the Duties of the Job:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Salary : $28 - $30
