Job Description
This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of manufacturing plant and its employees. Duties include planning production schedules, identifying productivity goals, and monitoring processes to ensure efficiency and compliance in the manufacturing process. The plant manager also develops strategies that make certain the production goals are met at a minimal cost. Additionally, the plant manager is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment for the employees. The plant manager has strong leadership qualities, gives clear direction, thinks proactively, and has a high degree of accountability.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
Responsible for safety performance and support programs for the site
Responsible for developing and execution of site cost budgets.
Ensures that the plant is in total compliance and that all work performed in the facility is in accordance with the dictates of all Corporate, OSHA, State, Local and ISO 2000 directives.
Annual process improvements that increase efficiencies and reduce costs.
Attracts, mentors and retains top talent
Prepares and executes site Capital plans, 1 and 5 year.
Oversees operation of the maintenance department.
When appropriate, manages annual plant shutdowns.
Addresses all other duties as assigned by direct supervisor or other Corporate Manager.
Oversees all production in the facility. Ensures the plant is run in a safe and efficient manner, audits job safety analysis (jsa’s), and ensures all personal protective equipment (PPE) is available and in good working order. Coordinates activities with planning and scheduling to maximize the use of processing machinery so quick and efficient turnarounds are made between product runs.
Ensures the monitoring of daily production records to address any problems that could impact efficiencies.
Ensures the reviews of all batch sheets and processing records to ensure that SOP’s are followed and are properly completed. This shall include the accuracy of all shift production records.

Working Conditions
The manager will work in a manufacturing plant setting including in-doors and out-doors.
Although primarily day shift schedule, the manager must be available, as necessary, on off hours to troubleshoot problems.
Availability to be on-call for all three shifts and weekends.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 55 pounds as well be able to climb stairs and work from heights.

Education, Training, and Experience Required
Undergrad degree in mechanical or chemical engineering
Three (3) years of manufacturing experience in the chemical industries.
Proven ability to innovate and improve upon existing business practices.
Strong interpersonal, presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
Experience managing 50 or more direct reports.
Five years of safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
Lean experience
Salary : $140,000 - $150,000
