Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer with 5 years of experience in the heavy civil construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing and executing large-scale transit, metro, rail, or MTA projects valued at $50 million or more. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering transformative infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Project Manager and construction team to plan, schedule, and execute project activities in alignment with client specifications and company standards.
- Oversee technical aspects of construction, including design review, submittals, RFIs, and adherence to project drawings and specifications.
- Manage and track project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Interface with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and successful project outcomes.
- Conduct site inspections and quality control checks to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to source materials and equipment while managing inventory and supply chain challenges.
- Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, and as-built records.
- Support project risk assessment and mitigation strategies to address potential challenges and delays.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience as a Project Engineer or similar role in heavy civil construction, with a focus on transit, metro, rail, or MTA projects.
- Proven track record of working on large-scale projects valued at $50 million or more.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety standards.
- Proficiency in project management software, such as Primavera P6, Procore, or similar tools.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Familiarity with NYC construction codes and regulations is a plus.
