What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Assistant Director position at Appletree Preschool?

The Assistant Director demonstrates leadership abilities and assists the Director/Owner in operating the center in accordance with state licensing standards and established policies and procedures. The Assistant Director will ensure a safe and nurturing environment for all children, staff and parents. This individual will be responsible for all school operations. Our school prides itself on exceptional customer service and this individual will play a pivotal role in maintaining those high standards.
Responsibilities:
- Assume overall responsibility for management of all aspects of the program
- Ensure all state requirements are met by the school
- Conduct tours and provide families with information about the program – take ownership of enrollments and look to build enrollment in the school
- Be the point of contact for all parents (provide best in class customer service)
- Assist staff and provide guidance and support when needed
- Assist and support curriculum development
- Plan and coordinate field trips
- Maintain immaculate staff and children records
- Establish teacher schedules and handle HR matters
- In charge of making sure school has sufficient supplies (minimal wastage)
- Keep Director/Owner informed of key issues and provide periodic updates
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education required or a related field
- At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar role preferred
- Preschool experience is a must
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to use Microsoft Office
- Entrepreneurial mindset
- Can do attitude!
- Must be familiar with childhood development theories and principles
- Be a leader and inspire those around him/her
- Must be able to provide excellent customer service
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
