Applewood Centers, a leading non-profit agency providing mental health, social services, and education to children, adolescents, and families in Cuyahoga and Lorain counties, is seeking a dedicated Youth Justice Center Therapist to join our team. We offer a continuum of care from outpatient counseling to residential treatment and are committed to addressing the behavioral, emotional, and learning needs of the children we serve.
Impact Young Lives in the Juvenile Justice System
Did you know that nearly 70% of youth involved in the Juvenile Justice System experience psychological distress? As a Youth Justice Center Therapist at our Crossroads Program on the Lorain County Detention Center campus, you'll play a crucial role in identifying, assessing, and treating these young men and women. You will provide clinical assessments and diagnoses, conduct individual and family counseling, and facilitate therapeutic groups for both clients and their guardians. Working collaboratively with Lorain Juvenile Court personnel, you'll develop and recommend aftercare plans to ensure continued support and success for clients upon their release from the 16-week program. This is a unique opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable youth.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide individual, family, and group counseling services.
- Facilitate therapeutic groups for clients and guardians.
- Collaborate with court personnel to ensure successful client discharge.
- Develop and implement aftercare plans and referrals.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
