Job Responsibilities:
- Lab service engineers support hardware qualification assembly and testing for electrostatic chucks (ESC’s) and supporting hardware in plasma etchers.
- Perform electrical and mechanical operations such as assembly of test equipment and troubleshooting.
- Operate, facilitate, upgrade, and maintain ESC reliability and qualification test stands.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and take metrology data on Etch tools.
- Use lab management practices to organize data, run recipes, and track results to inform the performance of hardware being tested on the etch chamber.
- Manage ESC group lab space to ensure space for tools, maintenance of tools and safety procedures are in place for all test stands.
- Lift and carry objects weighing 25 lbs to support lab work.
- The testing and assembly work will include refrigeration chiller systems, mechanical assembly work, printed circuit board wiring and troubleshooting, electrical cable assembly, procedure documentation, safety procedure setup and understanding as well as part movement logistics around the campus.
Manual Labor Expectations:
- Capable of lifting 25lbs from floor to table height repeated multiple times in a shift
- Able to stand for long periods of time in a lab environment
Work Schedule:
Willing to work a flexible schedule as necessary to support lab test schedules. This includes 1st shift (7 am-3 pm), 2nd shift (3 pm-11 pm), and weekend overtime (more than 8 hours/day, 5 days/week) when required.
Preferred Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in materials science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or related field.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Strong organization skills
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint experience.
- Experience with hands-on lab work and mechanical/electrical troubleshooting
- Experience with running test apparatus – environmental chamber, Optical inspection equipment, reliability test stands, or related hardware
- Experience with clean room operation and maintenance
- Experience setting up data acquisition systems to measure temperature, pressure, or similar
- Semiconductor industry experience
