Job Summary :
We are seeking a skilled Technical Project Manager with experience managing federal projects to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of IT and engineering initiatives within the public sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in federal compliance, risk management, stakeholder coordination, and agile methodologies while ensuring projects meet scope, timeline, and budget requirements.
Key Responsibilities :
Project Planning & Execution :
oLead the development, implementation, and oversight of technical projects for federal agencies.
oDefine project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
oDevelop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies.
Stakeholder & Client Management :
oServe as the primary point of contact for federal agency clients, ensuring project goals align with agency needs.
oFacilitate communication between technical teams, agency representatives, and third-party vendors.
oPrepare and deliver project status reports, presentations, and risk assessments.
Compliance & Risk Management :
oEnsure adherence to Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) guidelines, and other relevant federal standards.
oManage project risks, including security, compliance, and data governance challenges.
oConduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
Budget & Resource Management :
oOversee project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure financial accountability.
oCoordinate with procurement teams for contract management and vendor selection.
Technical Leadership :
oWork closely with developers, engineers, and system architects to implement technical solutions.
oSupport the deployment of IT infrastructure, cloud solutions, cybersecurity initiatives, or software development efforts.
oImplement Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall methodologies as required by the project.
Qualifications & Skills :
Education & Experience :
oBachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
o5-10 years of project management experience in federal IT or engineering projects.
oExperience working with government agencies such as DoD, DHS, VA, or civilian federal agencies.
Certifications (Preferred) :
oPMP (Project Management Professional)
oCertified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe Agilist
oITIL, CISSP, or AWS certifications (depending on project domain)
Technical Proficiency :
oFamiliarity with cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GovCloud), cybersecurity frameworks, and federal IT compliance standards.
oExperience with JIRA, Microsoft Project, ServiceNow, or other project management tools.
oUnderstanding of Agile, DevSecOps, and system engineering principles.
Other Requirements :
oAbility to obtain and maintain federal security clearance if required.
oStrong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in government proposal writing.
