The Role
We are seeking an experienced Field Service Resident Engineer. This individual will be responsible for servicing the dedicated customer, as well as coordinating and executing all equipment, parts, and service activities for them.
They will serve as the technical liaison between APPLIED and the customer and cultivate relationships with all relevant departments.
The position will continue to report to the Manager of Technical Field Service but will have dotted line responsibility to the commercial leadership for equipment.
You will work On-Site in New Iberia, LA. Only local candidates will be considered.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Field Service Resident Engineer. This individual will be responsible for servicing the dedicated customer, as well as coordinating and executing all equipment, parts, and service activities for them.

You will work On-Site in New Iberia, LA. Only local candidates will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Build customer relationships at all levels and establish rapport with existing and potential contacts through regular calls or visits, acting as first point of contact.
- Installation and maintenance of equipment at customer locations.
- Achieve sales targets by implementing business strategies to expand existing business, generate new leads and penetrate new opportunities throughout the facilities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop applications and/or customizations to meet customers’ specifications.
- Resolve customer issues and performance improvements.
- Provide customer training on products and capabilities.
- Provide pre and post sales technical advice and support.
- Assist with the preparation of customer proposals and quotations.
- Manage the post-purchase relationship with contacts and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Maintain detailed documentation/customer profiles and provide regular feedback through sales and other updates/reports as required by management.
- Maintain proper truck inventory necessary to support the customer.
- Monitor equipment for optimal operation and recommend maintenance as required.
- Coordinate common tasks with other facilities to ensure continuity of service.
- Training of Applied team members dedicated to customer facilities.
- Maintain the ServiceMax and Salesforce databases.
- Support and adhere to all safety procedures and complete all required safety training.
- Identify and support improvement opportunities for processes in order to support company objectives and customer expectations.
- Have trouble shooting mindset.
- Are a team-player.
- Have the willingness to learn and are personally driven to succeed.
- May move items weighing up to 70 lbs.
- The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
- The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
- Potential for extended periods of standing and walking.
- HS Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience using basic tools and a good understanding of general mechanical processes is required.
- 1-3 years in a field service or industrial maintenance role highly preferred.
- Ability to communicate at all levels within an organization, build and manage relationships, and demonstrate resilience and ability to handle difficult situations with a positive “can do” attitude. Also, proven experience & ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and good customer facing skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong regard for product quality and safety standards.
- Pneumatic, hydraulic, or electrical experience preferred.
