The Role :

We are seeking a Production Planner who will be responsible for planning and coordinating the production activities to meet customer demand while optimizing the use of resources.

This role requires a strong ability to manage schedules, monitor inventory levels, and maintain communication between departments to ensure timely production and delivery of products.

This role is an-site role located in Brooklyn Center, MN. Only local candidates will be considered.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Production Scheduling :

Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on customer orders, internal and forecasted demand using data driven the MRP system.

  • Work with production supervision to manage workflows effectively.
  • Identify and communicate capacity constraints to production supervision.
  • Process Optimization :
  • Identify inefficiencies in production processes and work with the production team to implement improvements that enhance productivity and reduce costs.

  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., procurement, logistics, quality control) to streamline processes.
  • Coordination and Communication :
  • Act as a liaison between production, engineering, procurement, and sales departments to ensure alignment of production priorities.

  • Provide regular updates on production status and potential delays to production management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Troubleshooting :
  • Address any disruptions or bottlenecks in the production process and work with the production team to find solutions to maintain flow.

  • Reporting :
  • Present reports to management to assist in decision-making and resource allocation.

  • Physical Requirements :

  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
  • Frequently moves items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
  • Experience and Qualifications :

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Production Planner or similar role in manufacturing or supply chain management required.
  • Experience with multiple work centers, including machining and complex assemblies with multiple levels.
  • Strong knowledge of production processes and scheduling systems.
  • Proficiency in ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 products, especially Excel required.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
