Summary: This position is for a full time hourly BCBA or PLBA. This position is open to graduate students who meet the requirements to become provisionally licensed in MO (must have all school courses completed and be within 6 months of taking the BCBA certification exam). The Center-Based Behavior Analyst is responsible for developing plans to reduce problem behaviors and teach appropriate replacement behaviors for children, adolescents, and adults with autism and related developmental disabilities. The behavior analyst will conduct functional behavior assessments, and skills assessments and develop behavior and treatment plans in collaboration with parents, caregivers, educators and other team members. The behavior analyst is also responsible for developing skills acquisition programming, training parents, line therapists and other caregivers on all behavior change protocols, analyzing data and adjusting plans as needed based on data.
Starting Job Salary: $73,000-85,000 annually for full time employment of 40 hours a week with full BEHAVIOR ANALYST certification and licensure. (Salary will be prorated for provisionally licensed behavior analysts). Additional hours for students receiving services through their insurance after or before school or on weekends are available for an hourly bonus paid quarterly.

Location and Schedule: This is a 40 hour per week position. The behavior analyst must be on the premises of the Therapeutic Education Center Monday-Friday from 8:30am-3:30pm. This will allow the behavior analyst to be present for all instructional time (9am-3pm) as well as time for set up and clean up. Additional activities within the 40-hour week include regular collaboration meetings, student or staff meetings as needed, as well as other treatment planning activities. Some of these additional activities may be completed off-campus but may require supervisor approval to do so.
Job Responsibilities:

- Conduct functional assessment and/or functional analysis of target behaviors, including indirect assessments, direct observations, and experimental analyses in a variety of settings.
- Develop behavior intervention plans and general behavioral guidelines, in collaboration with parents, caregivers, educators and other team members, to decrease challenging behaviors and increase replacement behaviors
- Conduct competency-based training on behavior plans, skill acquisition programming and all other behavior change procedures for line therapists, parents, and any other team members with whom clients are in regular contact
- Ensure correct implementation of behavior support plans. skill acquisition programs and other behavior change procedures through the effective use of data and graphing, direct observations, team consultation, and records review
- Recommend and develop program modifications to the team as necessary
- Analyze all behavior and skill acquisition data at least monthly
- Collaborate with the SPED teacher , related service providers, and other team members to program for IEP goals and curricular areas.
- Provide competency-based training on and ensure correct implementation of skill acquisition programming and instruction to support staff (Line therapists and Registered Behavior Technicians).
- Supervise support staff in implementing instruction.
- Provide direct and indirect instructional support to students in a positive environment.
- Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining an environment conducive to learning for all students.
- Meet with parents to discuss their children's progress and to determine priorities for their children and their individualized educational needs.
- Confer with parents, administrators, teachers, partner school district personnel, related service providers, and other professionals to develop individualized education programs (IEPs) designed to promote students' educational, physical, and social/emotional development.
- Maintain accurate and complete student records and prepare reports on children and activities, as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
- Provide crisis intervention, as needed, for students as dictated by students’ behavior and crisis plans.
- Assist in collection of data for providing appropriate classroom interventions.
- Serve as a member of a multidisciplinary team as appropriate.
- Maintain professional competence by participating in staff development activities, curriculum development meetings, and other professional opportunities.
- Implement individualized behavior plans to decrease challenging behaviors and increase replacement behaviors
- Participate in intake meetings with prospective clients as requested.
- Complete a monthly report for each student which summarizes the progress made on programming as well as details any modifications made.
- Conduct skills assessments to determine programming needs and treatment recommendations
- Ensure compliance with statewide policies and procedures through presentation of behavior plans to behavior development committees and human rights committees as applicable
- Track and monitor all behavior analyst time and activities
- Record daily session notes in accordance with requirements of client specific payors and company procedures
- Enter time worked daily
- Collect and present data to, as well as consult with the psychiatrist and other professionals regarding behavioral progress, to allow informed decisions to be made regarding the effectiveness and necessity of specific treatments and services.
- Attend client centered meetings (e.g., IEPs, ISPs, BSPs, IFSPs) as appropriate
- Consult and coordinate services with other education and health care professionals on an as needed basis for all clients on caseload

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants should have experience with implementing functional behavior assessments with children, adolescents and/or adults with autism, recognizing and discussing signs of autism and criteria for autism spectrum disorder, and participating in clinical teams with other autism professionals. Applicants should have a strong clinical background in administering verbal behavior assessments, conducting language, play, and skill-based assessments, and in designing, implementing, and/or training others using individualized language, play and skill-based curricula. Strong applicants will have supervised experience in 1:1 education of learners with autism across educational, home and community settings, as well as familiarity with designing, participating in, or supervising ABA programs for individuals with autism. Experience with collecting, graphing, analyzing, displaying and discussing data based progress is a must.
Education and/or Experience:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience providing services to individuals with autism and/or other developmental disabilities.
- Master's degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education or a related field. Strong consideration is given to candidates with degrees from ABA accredited programs.
- Completion of all required fieldwork experience hours required by the BACB to be eligible for the BEHAVIOR ANALYST exam (for PLBA applicants only)
- National Board Certification as a Behavior Analyst (BEHAVIOR ANALYST) or Provisional Licensure in Missouri as a Provisionally Certified Behavior Analyst (PLBA)*
- Licensure as a Behavior Analyst (BEHAVIOR ANALYST) or PLBA in the state of Missouri (or meets the eligibility criteria for licensure)*
- *Successful passing of the BCBA exam and obtaining full licensure with the state of MO (LBA) must be obtained no later than 6 months from the start date of the position.

The BEHAVIOR ANALYST must also be able to quickly discern when to block, move away from the client, use personal protective equipment and implement other crisis intervention strategies including but not limited to approved physical restraint and transport procedures, as well as instruct and coach other staff through the correct use of these processes.

Work Hazards:
- Clients may engage in challenging behaviors which may pose a risk of injury to staff. Behaviors may include but are not limited to physical aggression, property destruction/throwing items, and challenging behaviors involving bodily fluids. The BEHAVIOR ANALYST will be required to utilize personal protective equipment as directed to minimize risk of injury.
- Exposure to bodily fluids (i.e., during assistance and teaching self-care and toileting skills, administering first aid if needed).
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated regularly (at least quarterly) during BEHAVIOR ANALYST visits. All employees are subject to a 90 day probationary period of employment upon hire.
