What are the responsibilities and job description for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) position at Applied Behavioral Science Institution?
POSITION SUMMARY:
We service clients in the Greater Grand Rapids area. This position will be servicing clients in Kent County. The BCBA must be willing to travel; we currently provide services in the home environment, in the community, as well as Center based services.
The BCBA is responsible for implementing assessments for program placement and measuring progress. Following the administration of assessments, the BCBA then develops curriculum based on the assessment results. The BCBA then supervises programs and behavioral technicians to create and implement customized behavior plans with ongoing data analysis that are modified as necessary. BCBAs are also responsible for facilitating parent meetings/ parent training to ensure consistency, collaborating with multiple professionals to ensure consistency and quality of care. BCBAs are responsible for writing reports and collaborating with payors to maintain authorizations while staying current with research and new methodologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Implementing assessments for program placement
- Implementing assessments to measure progress
- Developing curriculum
- Supervising programs, BCaBA’s, and behavioral technicians
- Creating and implementing customized behavior plans with ongoing data analysis to modify as necessary
- Facilitating parent meetings/ parent training to ensure consistency
- Assisting in training new staff
- Occasionally assisting in billing
- Collaborating with multiple professionals to ensure consistency and quality of care
- Writing reports and collaborating with payors to maintain authorizations
- Staying current with research and new methodologies
- Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Must be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board and relevant state licensing boards.
- Knowledge of basic behavior-analytic skills including experimental design and measurement.
- Knowledge of the fundamental elements of behavior change, including behavior change considerations, systems and procedures.
- Knowledge of client-centered responsibilities including assessment, measurement, intervention, implementation and management.
- Knowledge of the methods of collecting, compiling, organizing, and analyzing data.
- Knowledge of the procedures and methods of statistical analysis.
- Knowledge of the methods of psychological research.
- Knowledge of federal and state laws related to behavior analysis.
- Knowledge of factors in the analysis of data to provide the basis for supporting findings, recommendations, and strategies.
- Knowledge of the methods of presenting results of behavioral analysis.
- Knowledgeable of all elements on the Behavior Analyst Certification Board’s 4th & 5th Edition Task List.
- Commitment to maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA laws.
- Ability to analyze and evaluate data.
- Ability to prepare charts, maps and other graphs to display the analysis of data.
- Ability to organize and write planning reports.
- Ability to interpret and apply the principles, practices, and techniques of behavioral analysis.
- Ability to train others to implement components of treatment plans.
- Ability to interpret pertinent laws and regulations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Ability to maintain records, and prepare reports and correspondence related to the work.

BASIC & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to lift and carry clients with adaptive equipment.
- Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be willing and able to restrain/hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as indicated in the Behavior Intervention Plan in the course of working with children with challenging behavior.
- Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection.
- Must be physically present at the assigned job location, which may include home, school, and community placements.
- Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication.
- Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices, and paper means.
- Must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel between different job sites within the Greater Grand Rapids Area.
- Must have a valid MI Driver’s License & insurance in good standing
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 1500 hours supervised under the direction of a BCBA. At least 2 years of experience working with individuals with special needs.
EDUCATION:
Master’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or related field
Licensed BCBA
RELATED TRAINING:
Responsible for completing and maintaining all required certifications and trainings once employed including, but not limited to: CPR, Background Checks, obtaining necessary CEU’s and other company in-services and trainings as directed by employment supervisor.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
