What are the responsibilities and job description for the Configuration Support Specialist position at Applied Industrial Technologies?
What you'll do :
This person will be an integral team member of the Engineered Solution (ES) value add group and will report to the Design Engineering Manager. The ES group designs, builds, and delivers small to large automation solutions to every industry segment and company size in the U.S. Our "solutions" can range from a custom cable to a full robotic automated system. In addition to the custom design efforts, the ES team manages a build- to-print offering that capitalizes on our engineering expertise, project management, manufacturing, and quality systems. These efforts are fast paced, concurrent, require agility, and love of process.
The Configuration Support Specialist role is that of a key contributor to the Engineered Solution team's success. Specifically, you will own the documentation process as it flows from engineering to supply chain, quality, manufacturing, and the customer. This position calls for a well-organized, detail-oriented individual, who enjoys a variety of concurrent assignments while working across multiple business applications. It requires enthusiasm, flexibility, resiliency, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a professional and courteous personality.
Additional details about what you will be doing includes :
- Create, release, and configure bill of material (BOM) with appropriate multilevel structuring and grouping based on input from engineering, manufacturing, and customers
- Review and implement engineering change orders (ECO's) to maintain BOMs to the latest revisions
- Drive timely ECO reviews, BOM updates, and documentation release
- Assist with request for quotes and proposal for build-to-print assemblies
- ERP data maintenance, correcting descriptions, manufacturer part numbers, duplicate parts, etc.
- Respond to production issues and investigate root cause (i.e., BOM error, design error, etc.) and direct the issues to the appropriate team for corrections
