About the role
We are looking for a Director of Government Affairs to join our fast-growing and fast-paced Defense Team. You will develop and execute legislative strategies, shape strategic communications, and manage engagements in Congressional and Executive branches. Duties will include shaping and monitoring legislation related to autonomy and AI in defense, developing positions and responses to policy and appropriations, and representing the company in front of key policymakers. The Director of Government Affairs will have the opportunity to develop internal management processes, lead strategic discussions, and engage with business development at Applied.

At Applied Intuition, you will :
- Develop, maintain, and build networks of relationships with Members of Congress and Congressional staff on relevant Appropriations and Authorization Committees Subcommittees.
- Shape federal legislative priorities, political strategy, and policy development; understand business priorities, growth opportunities and potential risks to inform policy objectives.
- Work closely with Applied’s business development teams, external government affairs consultants, and industry partners.
- Draft legislative language, policy briefings and presentations, hearing testimony, and position papers.
- Build coalitions across interest groups for trusted autonomy.
- Monitor and analyze federal legislative proposals.
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to ensure successful completion across any special projects.

Compensation at Applied Intuition for eligible roles includes base salary, equity, and benefits. Base salary is a single component of the total compensation package, which may also include equity in the form of options and / or restricted stock units, comprehensive health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance coverage, 401k retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off. Applied Intuition pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum intended target base salary for new hire salaries for the position. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, interview performance, and the level and scope of the position.
