About The Role
We are looking for a Strategy and Business Development Analyst to join our fast-growing Defense Team.
As the Strategy and Business Development Analyst, you will conduct customer and competitor research to understand market trends and opportunities driving growth in the software defined vehicle and autonomy market. You will combine strategic thinking, operational execution, and market insight to support business growth, partnerships, and operational efficiency. You will exercise your strong interests in data analysis, market research, and business operations, paired with a passion for emerging technologies and national security competition, to help focus and shape our opportunity pipeline.
This is a strategic and operational role that will directly enable revenue growth. In this role, you will work closely with the Business Development team to create an optimized approach for identifying, qualifying, and reporting pipeline activities.

Applied Intuition pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum intended target base salary for new hire salaries for the position. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, interview performance, and the level and scope of the position.

About The Role

- Provide Market Analysis & Insights:
- Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive dynamics in relevant defense software markets
- Analyze market data to inform strategic decisions and support business development initiatives
- Provide insights into regulatory developments, technological advancements, and consumer behavior
- Deliver Business Development Support:
- Collaborate with the business development team to identify and evaluate potential partnerships, customers, and markets
- Prepare financial models, forecasts, and ROI analyses to assess new business opportunities
- Assist in the creation of opportunity, sub-market, and market growth strategies
- Drive Operational Efficiency:
- Design and implement processes to improve operational efficiency within the business development function
- Develop and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of initiatives and track progress toward strategic goals
- Work cross-functionally with teams such as engineering, product development, and marketing to ensure alignment on strategic objectives
- Execute Data Management & Reporting:
- Collect, manage, and analyze operational and sales data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Create dashboards and reports to provide real-time insights to leadership and stakeholders
- Leverage data to optimize workflows and support decision-making processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- 2 years of experience in business analysis, operations, or a related role, preferably within the defense or technology sectors
- Strong proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Sheets, DOMO, PowerBI) and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences
- Knowledge of the defense industry, including key players, technologies, and market dynamics, is highly desirable
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, on-site, collaborative environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Experience with financial modeling and strategic planning
- Familiarity with mission software, AI, machine learning, or other technologies relevant to autonomous vehicles
- Familiarity with industry and government market analysis databases (e.g., BGOV, DACIS, USAspending, SAM.gov)
