Overview
The Material Planner is responsible for ensuring the continuous supply of materials to support production schedules while optimizing inventory levels and minimizing costs. This role requires strong analytical skills, supplier coordination, inbound logistics control, and cross-functional collaboration to maintain an efficient supply chain.
Material Planning & Procurement:
- Execute material planning strategies based on production schedules, demand forecasts, and inventory levels.
- Monitor raw materials and components to ensure on-time availability through ERP System
- Issue purchase orders and coordinate with suppliers to meet lead times and delivery expectations.
- Conduct regular inventory analysis and adjust planning parameters as needed in ERP System.
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems to track and optimize material flow.
Inbound Logistics Control & Supplier Coordination:
- Manage inbound shipments, ensuring materials arrive on time, in full (OTIF), and in compliance with quality standards.
- Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and carriers to track shipments and resolve any delivery issues.
- Review inbound shipments and work to minimize costs.
- Work with customs brokers to ensure timely clearance of imported goods.
Production & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with production, purchasing, logistics, and quality teams to align material needs with operational goals.
- Support R&D function as needed for new Project requirements
- Assist in resolving material-related production constraints and recommend solutions.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or a related field.
- Experience: 2 years in material planning, supply chain, procurement, or logistics in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
- Understanding of inventory control, inbound logistics, and supply chain principles.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
