Applied LNG is seeking a highly motivated Plant Operator to join our team and participate in the daily operation and maintenance activities of our Natural Gas Liquefaction facility in Midlothian Texas.
Job Description: Participate in the daily operation and maintenance activities of a natural gas processing facility as directed by the Plant Manager. Strives to achieve high standards of safety and environmental integrity while maintaining maximum production.
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
- Perform all aspects of a facility operator in a safe manner to avoid any injuries to yourself as well as those working at the facility.
- Responsible for daily operations, maintenance, and repair of equipment, including daily logs, preventive maintenance tasks, and reporting requirements.
- Perform and assist with inspection and overhaul activities.
- Test and monitor equipment and machinery for vibration, bearing temperature and output capacity.
- Perform equipment inspection, maintenance tasks, troubleshooting and diagnoses of plant equipment and systems including, but not limited to, pipes, tubes, rods, seals, shafts, gears, motors, bearings, couplings, valves and pumps.
- Perform basic chemical tests daily to maintain the proper PH of the cooling tower water and ensure the amine solution concentration is adequate to remove CO2 present in the inlet gas.
- Demonstrated mechanical and electrical knowledge and repair abilities.
- Oversee (and to the extent necessary participate with) subcontractors in the performance of equipment service work, and in overhaul activities as required.
- Regularly monitor facility operating conditions to allow seamless operations 24/77 and communicate any process malfunctions or irregularities.
- Respond to alarms and callouts while on shift to insure continuous facility operations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years' equipment operations experience using mechanical, electrical, instrument or control system skills.
- High School or GED; technical training school.
- Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel.
- Strong verbal, written, computer communication and organization skills.
- Ability to interact positively and effectively in a team environment.
- Valid Drivers' License issued by state of residence and in good standing with no active violations within the previous three years.
- Flexibility for ‘on call' support or varied schedule needs.
- Willing to respond to callouts, work weekends and holidays when needed, and overtime as required.
- Able to problem solve on a number of different levels and determine the correct resources necessary to resolve the issue.
- Natural gas liquefaction facilities equipment and operations experience preferred.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand and talk or hear; walk or sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. (49 CFR 391.45) Employees in this class are occasionally required to wear respirators. In accordance with OSHA regulations, employees are prohibited from having facial or head hair that impairs the effectiveness of respirator equipment.

While performing the duties of this class, the incumbent is regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information and documents; analyze and solve problems; observe and interpret situations; deal with changing, intensive deadlines; and interact with officials and the public.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this class. The employee frequently works in outside weather conditions, near moving mechanical parts, and on slippery and uneven surfaces.
The employee is frequently exposed to extreme hot and dry conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock and burn. The noise level in the work environment outside the control room is exceptionally loud and requires that ear protection be worn much of the time.
