What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Operator - Colloidal Silica position at Applied Material Solutions Inc.?
Major Function:
Manufacture and package chemical products according to instructions and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Major Duties:
1. Set up, operate, and monitor equipment used for producing and packaging products.
2. Monitor batches for quality and safety parameters, including Critical Control Points and Control Points.
3. Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, and work areas according to company procedures.
4. Promptly report all food safety, physical safety, and product quality issues.
5. Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
Colloidal Silica Requirements:
1. Control and monitoring of computerized systems for production.
2. Measure, weigh, mix, and process chemical ingredients following established procedures to create finished products.
3. Record production, sanitation and test data accurately and legibly.
4. Draw samples of products for quality tests.
5. Fill containers with chemical products for sale or internal use.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to lift 60 pounds repetitively.
· Must be able to stand, bend, and reach for prolonged periods of time.
· Must be able to climb stairs and ladders repetitively.
· Must be able to wear required Personal Protection Equipment for extended periods of time.
· Must be able to safely and effectively operate production-related machinery including, but not limited to: forklifts, agitators, homogenizers, and drum tippers.
· Must be able to perform visual and olfactory observations.
Additional Requirements:
· Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
· Must pass background check and pre-employment drug test.
· Familiar with company concepts, practices and procedures.
· Must be able to perform a variety of tasks utilizing individual initiative.
- Must be able to work with peers and superiors in all departments and outside the company.
- Follow company’s food safety, chemical safety, sexual harassment, discrimination and general employee policies.
· Occasionally perform tasks not described in this position description in order to meet the needs of the company or department.
Education and Experience:
· Proficient in reading and mathematics at the high school graduate level.
· Forklift certification is preferred.
· A minimum of two years of chemical or food processing is preferred.
· GMP and HACCP training is a plus.
