Position Summary
The Technician will apply electrical and HVAC theory and related knowledge to test and modify developmental or operational electrical HVAC equipment and electrical control equipment and circuitry industrial or commercial facilities.
Position Duties
- Assemble and test experimental motor-control devises, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, solenoids, and other electrical equipment and components according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles;
- Modify electrical prototypes to correct functional deviations under direction of Controls Operations Manger;
- Diagnose the cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment by troubleshooting and perform preventative and corrective maintenance;
- Install and test electrical controls;
- Maintain current knowledge of VFD equipment and HVAC equipment;
- Develop wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications for system or equipment modifications or expansion, and directs personnel performing routine installation and maintenance duties;
- Plans, directs, and records periodic electrical testing, and recommends or initiates modification or replacement of equipment which fails to meet acceptable operating standards.

Education, Skills and Experience
Years of Experience: 3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Understanding of controls and programming is highly prudent to the position specially Tridium/Niagara Workbench.
Education: High school diploma or GED and relevant apprentice training from accredited school in HVAC.
License, Certification or Registration: Niagara Level 1
This is not a supervisory position.
