Key Responsibilities:
- Set Up and Operate Extrusion Equipment: Ensure proper setup and operation of extrusion machinery, including calibrating and adjusting equipment to meet specific production requirements and quality standards.
- Monitor Production Processes: Continuously monitor the extrusion process, including material feed, temperature, pressure, and line speed, to ensure smooth operation and the production of high-quality products.
- Troubleshoot and Maintain Equipment: Identify and resolve issues related to extrusion machinery, perform routine maintenance, and assist with repairs to minimize downtime and ensure efficient production.
- Quality Control and Inspection: Perform regular quality checks on extruded products to ensure they meet industry standards and customer specifications, including dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and material integrity.
- Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with production teams, engineers, and quality control to troubleshoot issues, improve processes, and ensure continuous improvement in extrusion operations.
Performance Objectives:
Within 60 days:
- Learn proper setup of the Extruder/crosshead.
- Able to select the correct tooling for the component being ran.
- Able to read/understand D-forms required for setup.
- Able to setup downstream equipment such as puller/cutter, conveyor belt.
- Able to setup dryer/hopper needed for raw material.
- Able to select correct recipe for components being ran.
Within 90 days to one year:
- Perform troubleshooting techniques required to maintain conforming parts (screw speed, temps, water levels, air, vacuum, etc.).
- Able to restring line in the event the line breaks.
- Able to perform line breakdown needed for cleaning the extruder.
- Able to perform successful setup within the allotted raw material/time requirements.
Position Requirements
- Must be avaialble to work 2nd shift (1:15pm-9:45pm).
- Read, write, and speak in English.
- Adhere to company policies, Quality System Regulation (QSR), ISO standards, and safety guidelines to ensure compliance and maintain quality assurance, promptly reporting and resolving any non-compliance issues.
- Effective communication skills to convey technical information and collaborate on problem-solving.
- Efficient prioritization and time management skills to meet production schedules.
Preferred
- Work flexible and extended hours as needed.
- Exceptional attention to detail to ensure the highest quality of finished products.
- Able to use calibrated equipment to measure components, such as pin gauges, calipers, rulers.
- Able to read/understand engineering drawings for components.
- Experience working with extruders and making adjustments.
