Position Description
As a Kitchen Manager, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:
- Supports the Hospitality team in overseeing the day-to-day operations inside the kitchen. This role works adjacent to the Operations Team and acts as a liaison between the administrative side and the back-of-house operation.
- Understand and follow Applied Medical's Quality Systems (QS) per training.
- Read, write, speak and communicate effectively with other team members, and comprehend work and safety instructions.
- Understand and comply with safety rules and Company policies.
- Oversee daily operation of kitchen including completion of checklists, prep lists, and proper safety and sanitation.
- Responsible for receiving in all vendor orders ensuring quality and organization in proper zones.
- Liaise between kitchen team and operations team to provide accurate inventory and ensure ordering needs are met.
- Supervise compliance with food preparation standards including proper portioning, cutting techniques, and labeling of both raw and prepared products.
- Provide support with managing kitchen team break needs such as coverage during breaks, completing break sheets, and adherence to Applied Medical's meal break policy.
- Monitor kitchen team to ensure compliance with all health department regulations.
- Oversee training and development of kitchen team members, contributing to the development of training guides and successful completion of all trainings in a timely manner.
- Support with recipe documentation, adjustments to prep sheets, and communicating any changes in a timely manner.
Position Requirements
This position requires the following skills and attributes:
- Three to Five years of food service management experience.
- Associates or bachelors degree in Hospitality related field preferred.
- Friendly, approachable, professional and outgoing.
- Competent at multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment and working under strict deadlines.
- Ability to work in various kitchen positions including dish-washing, prep cook, line cook, and lead cook.
- Eagerness to learn all programs within the Applied kitchen including catering, cafe, family dinner, and bakery operations.
- Ability to provide feedback, foster teamwork, and manage team members.
- Computer skills including email, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic Internet search capability.
- Self-motivated with a high energy level.
