Position Description

As a Yoga/Fitness Instructor, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:

• Monitor the equipment used in classes and make recommendations for replacement or new equipment when appropriate.
• Record class attendance on sign-in sheets for each class to maintain accurate records.
• Contribute ideas and suggestions for new fitness classes to enhance our offerings.
• Flexibility is key, as you may be required to cover a variety of fitness classes, as needed.
• Uphold customer satisfaction by actively seeking feedback, handling inquiries, concerns, or comments, and providing effective solutions.
• Keep all certifications current to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Collaborate with Wellness and Hospitality Teams as needed to support overall facility operations.
• Perform any additional tasks deemed necessary by managers to contribute to the smooth functioning of the facility.
• Teach other fitness classes such as Pilates, cardiovascular, or strength training if qualified and certified.
• Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Associate Wellness and Recreation Manager, Senior Wellness and Hospitality Manager, Senior Director of Wellness and Hospitality, and Vice President (VP) of Applied Family and Community.
• Availability to work weekends and evenings, as needed.
• Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to learn additional duties, as needed.

Position Requirements

This position requires the following skills and attributes:

• An active Yoga certification.
• Demonstrated experience teaching a diverse range of yoga and meditation classes across different proficiency levels, coupled with a genuine enthusiasm for wellness and fitness.
• Proven capability to deliver fitness classes safely and effectively.
• Ability to collaborate seamlessly with various teams across functions.
• Uphold a consistently high standard of professionalism, serving as a role model for other team members.
• Bring a positive and proactive approach, maintaining a friendly demeanor and providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong communication skills are essential.
• Demonstrated ability to cultivate and nurture a supportive team environment.

Preferred

The following skills and attributes are preferred:

• An active National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) accredited National Group Fitness Certification, such as the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), American Council on Exercise (ACE), or National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), along with any relevant discipline-specific certifications.
• An activeCPR/AED certification.
• Previous hands-on experience in customer service.
