Summary
AOI is a leading supplier of high-speed semiconductor lasers and components used in fiber optical communications. We are looking for a highly motivated R&D engineer in Semiconductor Wafer Processing and Device Fabrication. The successful candidate will be working with a group of R&D engineers and technicians in device design, growth, fabrication, and evaluation. The primary responsibility for this position is InP and GaAs-based compound semiconductor wafer processing and device fabrication in cleanroom fab for developing new laser products.
Job Duties
- Fabricate InP and GaAs based semiconductor lasers in a cleanroom environment.
- Develop, evaluate, and transfer various compound semiconductor manufacturing processes for new semiconductor lasers.
- Supervise a small group of technicians.
- Generate technical reports and SOP documentation.
Qualifications
- M.S., or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Applied Physics or related discipline is preferred. B.S., with 3 year industrial experience in III-V compound semiconductor processing is required.
- New graduates are acceptable with appropriate academic experience in III-V compound semiconductor wafer processing.
- 3 years of hands-on experience in semiconductor fab is preferred.
- Knowledge and hands-on experiences in semiconductor wafer processing is required, such as photomask design, photolithography, wet/dry etching, chemical vapor deposition, and metallization.
- Characterization skills are needed, such as the confocal or 3D microscope, surface profiler, ellipsometer, and SEM.
- Robust data analysis and Statistical Process Control skills Ability to communicate effectively across all business levels and functions.
Location
This position will be on-site based in Sugar Land, Texas.
