Maintenance Assistant

Position Summary

Maintenance Assistant will assist with facility cleaning and maintaining of manufacturing site to present the highest level of organization and safety. In this role, the Maintenance Assistant will organize, clean, complete maintenance tasks under supervision as assigned. This role requires janitorial experience, basic knowledge of hand tools and ability to maintain a safe and clean working environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean interior of the building, as well as machinery and equipment, and exterior of the building.
• Keep inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, and report needs to supervisor.
• Under the supervision of a technician or supervisor; assist in maintenance repairs as deemed appropriate based on training and skill level.
• Under the supervision of a technician or supervisor; locate sources of problems by observing, testing, and monitoring mechanical devices in operation.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

The incumbent must possess:

• Basic knowledge and compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning products and equipment used for cleaning.
• Basic knowledge of production machines and tools.
• Must be able to read and understand English.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Physical Activities

Position requires standing, lifting, pulling, and managing heavy equipment and objects.

There will be the frequent requirements of stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, and climbing.

Adjusting or moving objects up to 50-70 pounds in all directions.

Communicating with others to exchange information.

Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.

Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.

Environmental Conditions

Low temperatures.

High temperatures.

Noisy environments.

Physical Demands

Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.

Work that includes moving objects up to 50-70 pounds.
