What are the responsibilities and job description for the Highway Maintenance Worker position at Applied Polymerics Inc.?
Landing a job as a Highway Maintenance Technician requires out of town travel on a weekly basis. Your duties would consist of performing required repairs to roads, bridges, and other existing infrastructures. Hours of work and location could change weekly due to contract demands and weather conditions. While out of town lodging expenses are paid for and employees are given $35 cash per day to use for meals. Employees are paid to travel to and from the jobsite as long as they are in a company provided vehicle. Highway Maintenance Technicians are expected to be on time for work, wear required Personal Protective Equipment, and to act respectfully to all they encounter. All Personal Protective Equipment is provided to employees, except the steel toed boots that are required, but after 90 days of employment one can submit a boot receipt for reimbursement and can be reimbursed up to $130 yearly. All applicants must be at least 21 years of age or older, and be able to read and write at a high school level. It is a requirement that employees pass a drug screen, physical examination, and background check. You must have access to reliable transportation, and be able to lift 50 plus pounds regularly.
