Job Overview:
A challenging opportunity has arisen for a seasoned Global Threat Analyst to join our team at Applied Research Associates, Inc. This position requires an individual with extensive experience in identifying, characterizing, and assessing global threats, particularly those related to Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) agents.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing timely and accurate assessments of adversary WMD programs, strategic threats, and weapons-related scientific and technological developments. They will contribute to Defense Intelligence Enterprise deliverables, including foundational assessments, warning reports, technical briefings, and other analytic documents. Additionally, they will work closely with Special Operations Community staffs to transition threat characterizations into planning and operational deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth analysis of global WMD and CBRN threats, including nuclear, biological, and chemical programs
- Develop and maintain expertise in relevant technologies, trends, and threats
- Authoritatively contribute to multi-functional analytic teams and provide guidance to less experienced staff
- Represent Defense Intelligence Enterprise analytic units as directed and articulate official government analytic positions during customer engagements
Required Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, applicants must possess a Master's degree with 8 years of experience conducting intelligence cycle functions and/or creating intelligence reports, assessments, or deliverables. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree with 10 years of experience is also acceptable. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated current familiarity with adversary WMD programs and developments within the last two years, as well as working familiarity with established Intelligence Community directives, standards, and tradecraft documents.
Desired Qualifications:
Candidates with a Master's degree and 12 years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree and 17 years of experience, are highly desirable. Relevant military or defense-related experience, as well as working familiarity with strategies, policies, and plans that enable defense against CBRN threats and prevent the proliferation of WMD, are highly valued.
