What are the responsibilities and job description for the Guidance and Control Engineer - Security Clearance Required position at Applied Research Laboratory at the Penn State University?
We are seeking entry level Guidance and Control Engineers to join the Guidance and Control Technologies Division of the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State University. You will research, develop, analyze, implement, and test new capabilities for current and future autonomous undersea systems as part of one or more design teams.

Responsibilities include contributions to the following activities :
- Design algorithms for vehicle guidance and control in an undersea environment, including signal processing, detection, classification, tracking, and autonomous decision-making
- Analyze multi-sensor data to evaluate system performance
- Design, implement, integrate, and test software to demonstrate guidance and control algorithms
- Collaborate and communicate with a team of peers
- Document work through reports and presentations
This job will be filled at a level 1, or level 2, depending upon the successful candidate's education and experience. Minimally requires a Bachelor's degree in an engineering or science discipline for a level 1. Additional experience and / or education and competencies are required for higher-level jobs. A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or Computer Engineering is preferred.
