JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS :
We are searching for a Mechanical Testing Engineer to join our Drivetrain Technology Center of the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State University. This position will be responsible for carrying out technical assignments per program objectives, under the Principal Investigator's direction.
Responsibilities include :
- Contribute to fatigue performance and gear tests
- Data acquisition
- Equipment maintenance
- Failure analyses
- Contribute data for use in reports and proposals
- Metallurgical characterization
This position will be filled as a level 1, level 2 or level 3 depending on the successful candidate's education level and experience. Minimally requires a Bachelors' Degree Engineering or Science discipline for a level 1. Additional education and / or experience is required for higher level positions. A Masters' degree in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science and Engineering preferred.
