We are searching for a Software Systems Engineer to join our Strategic Navigation Department in our Navigation Research and Development Division at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State University. ARL's purpose is to research and develop innovative solutions to challenging scientific, engineering, and technology problems in support of the Navy, the Department of Defense (DoD), and the Intel Community (IC). The Strategic Navigation Systems Department focuses on the development and evaluation of high performance navigation systems, sensors, and integration of those sensors into the US Navy's strategic weapons systems.
Your working location will be fully on-site, located in Uniondale, NY . A hybrid on-site / remote work schedule may be possible.
You will :
- Perform independent review of software and system requirement and design documents
- Provide on site technical support during test events
- Resolve or assist in the resolution of conflicts and the mitigation of risks within programs
- Perform engineering work related to navigation engineering and strategic weapon systems
- Interact and collaborate regularly with program management, program sponsors and stakeholder
This position can be filled at multiple levels, depending upon successful candidate's education and experience. Minimally requires a Bachelors' Degree in an Engineering or Science discipline, plus 2 years of related experience. Additional experience and / or education are required for higher level positions.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is :
86,300.00 - $164,000.00
