We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Wastewater Engineer to join our team in Portland, Maine. In this role, you will lead and manage wastewater and water resource engineering projects, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. You will play a critical role in designing, analyzing, and optimizing wastewater systems while mentoring junior staff and fostering strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management : Lead wastewater treatment and collection system projects, including planning, design, and construction management.
- System Design : Develop innovative designs for wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and collection systems, ensuring compliance with Maine DEP and EPA standards.
- Technical Leadership : Provide expert guidance on hydraulic modeling, process optimization, and system upgrades.
- Compliance and Permitting : Prepare regulatory permits and ensure adherence to environmental regulations, including National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) requirements.
- Collaboration : Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, environmental scientists, and regulators.
- Client Engagement : Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met while fostering long-term partnerships.
